Your 2019 Spring & Summer Outdoor Series Guide - Los Angeles

It’s time to get outdoors, take in the sites of Los Angeles and catch an outdoor flick, some cool indy music, and, of course, wine. Here is your Spring & Summer Guide to favorite SoCal outings.



Eat|See|Hear
Eat|See|Hear the traveling outdoor cinema series kicks off this Saturday, May 4, 2019. Classic movies are shown at various iconic destinations throughout the different neighborhoods of L.A. The  scene is very relaxed. Guests can even bring their dogs. Before settling into the movie, grab a bite to eat at one of the food trucks (each week features a different grouping of food trucks which include Thai Mex Cocina, Roll’n Lobster, Oaxaca on Wheels, Main Squeeze).
*Things to know: Tickets are $14 (advanced online), $16 (at the door), kids ages 5 - 12 $8, and kids under 5 are free.

Friday Night Wine Tastings at Barnsdall Art Park

Barnsdall Art Park Foundations is back at it with it’s summer-must-do tradition -- Friday Night Wine Tastings.  This signature fundraising event brings visitors to visit the Hill where the iconic cultural destination, Hollyhock House resides. Fact: it was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and built for oil heiress Aline Barnsdall in 1919-1921. But back to the wine...the park welcomes guests 21-years and older to sip wine, picnic and watch the sunset with 360-degree views of the city.
*Things to know: ALCOHOL IS NEVER ALLOWED OUTSIDE THE PERMITTED TICKETED AREA.  As a public park, this is a special event & rare opportunity to have a toast in the park during this Barnsdall Art Park event; Proceeds support the park’s art programs and historic renovations; Event includes a selection of boutique wines provided by Silverlake Wine; DJs supply the music; There will be food trucks on-site, but feel free to bring your own picnic.
*When: Fridays 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., May 31 - September 6
*Tickets are available here: $35 per person with special Hollyhock House tours available for an additional $15. To attend, you must have a ticket.


Off the 405 free concert series

The fabulous Getty Center is bringing Angelenos ‘Off the 405” for its annual summer concert series. There will be six performances featuring fresh talent and a cool selection of new indy music. Set in the “sunset-driven architecture of the Getty courtyard,” guests are invited to chill on a BYO-blanket while taking in live music from Latin pop to 90’s-influenced R&B. Before and after the live sets, a DJ fills The Getty Center with music, and guests are encouraged to check out the collection galleries, special exhibits and roam the Central Garden. Local beer, agua fresca cocktails and a menu of snacks will be available for purchase.
*Things to know: Concerts are free - no tickets or reservations are needed, but bring $10 to park after 5 p.m. onsite.
*When: Saturdays, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
